Flowing Towradgi

I did something I don’t do often, took the tripod down to Towradgi Beach to shoot around the rocks with a lowish tide. Started here with some of the random smaller rocks poking through the sand, the waves fanning out nicely as the crashed around the rocks

As I wandered the rocks looking for where the water was flowing I noticed I could safely stand and look the opposite way and capture some water movement in the foreground of an image of the lifeguard towers standing watch in front of Mt Keira and Mt Kembla

As I was looking towards the sunrise I noticed a person sit on one of the bench seats above the pool. I quickly took the camera off the tripod and changed my settings to be able to capture another image featuring a small person in a big landscape.

Turning my attention back to the rocks and water I found this nice little shot with plenty of water flowing across the rocks. I think it really helps in isolating the rocks that sit a bit higher giving some depth to the image.

As the sun started to rise I went back to the spot I shot the lifeguard towers and mountains from earlier. This time waiting for the sunlight to hit the mountain for that nice warm golden glow while leaving the water contrasting that in the shade with some cool blue tones.

Speaking of the warm golden glow from the rising sun. I went back to shooting the water flowing over and around the rocks, hoping to catch some of that light amongst the water movement

Once the sun was up and it got too bright for shooting with a slow shutter I turned to the waves, as I often do. Got some more of that golden light shining across the buildings at North Gong while a wave breaks right in front of a surfer.

Making my way back to the car and I couldn’t help but take some quick shots around an empty pool. Also watched a few surfers on the Corrimal side of the pool before leaving. Including this guy paddling out to join the crowd of surfers already lined up for waves

As always don’t forget to check out the rest of the
