Wollongong Harbour Walk
My walk started half way along Cliff Road, looking down over the rock pool and across to the continental pools. The surf and wind were basically non-existent making it the perfect morning to be out on the water
Walking down the stairs to walk along the blue mile I found a couple of swimmers in the pool, a boat just out past the pool and some nice looking clouds floating across the sky. I quickly shot this image before making my way down to the sand to continue my walk around the harbour
There is never any shortage of people on the harbour. Whether they’re in a rowing boat, on a surf ski or just swimming around the boats you will almost always find something to aim your lens at
On the way to one of my favourite shots of the old lighthouse, lining it up through the end of the old wooden jetty, using the pylons as if they’re sentries guarding the building. I played around with some of the water receding around the rocks along the shoreline and took a sneaky reflection or two.
I walked all the way around the beach and under the jetty and found that I could frame up Yachties Cafe and the old lighthouse through the beams. A little bit of colour splashed around the clouds made this image pop a bit more than it normally would
Making my way back along the blue mile I went the whole way to the Bathers Pavilion and took the stairs up to the roadside. When walking past the cannons I noticed the clouds parting and allowing some sun rays to shine through. I saw a couple sitting on the bench and just as I took a shot a flock of pigeons took off from the grass. I really liked the way this one came out as a black and white image
As always don’t forget to check out the rest of the
images from the morning in the gallery below
