Misty Towradgi Sunrise

Stayed local for today’s shoot, it was well before sunrise when I turned up at Towradgi and super misty with a thick salt spray filling the air. As soon as I got out of the car I spotted this couple walking under the lights I was captivated by how atmospheric it looked as the lights shone through the mist, straight off I knew it had to be a black and white image to help show this off

After wandering along the bike track looking for scenes I found interesting I noticed the light above the bridge really enhancing the salty atmosphere. I was waiting for a person to come across and complete the vision I had in my head, while I didn’t quite get what I was looking for I managed to capture this one

Eventually I made my way further along the bike track but didn’t find anything of interest. I took one of the walkways down on to the beach where I played around with some more intentional camera movement plus a sneaky shot of the lacklustre sunrise on offer that morning

A surfer made his way down and stopped at the end of the walkway to check the surf. Took this quick image and again it just needed to be a black and white. Lately I’ve enjoyed challenging myself to find images that work in B&W more often, I feel like I rely on colour too much to tell my stories, B&W forces me to look for different elements to make an image.

A quick walk back along the beach and I was back at the pool, as you know I can never go past a shot of the handrails at a pool. That was about it for a very gloomy morning strolling around Towradgi Park and Corrimal Beach.

As always don’t forget to check out the rest of the

images from the morning in the gallery below
