Back on the Tripod at MM Beach
After a month off from photography, not even picking the camera up to move it. I figured I should get out and see if I remembered how to use a camera, especially seeing as I was shooting a local crossfit comp a few days after this.
I made my way down to MM Beach at Port Kembla, one of my favourite beaches to shoot at, there is a really nice rockshelf with different tiers for the water to flow down, some nice areas of breaking waves with the headland and islands in the background and enough people for my usual street style photography when I’ve finished with the waves and water movement.
With a high tide and just enough swell around, the rocks were transforming into these nice little cascades that I love so much here. Then as the sun rose behind one of the islands I noticed all the birds flying around, I took out my long lens to see what could be captured of the scene I was watching unfold.
After playing around with these I started my way back to the car. Seeing the old pool full with the high tide I tried to capture some details of the water and sand on the way past.
I made it back to the car and liked the look of the light across the whole beach so took a few shots from up near the road, one of the whole scene and a few tighter images to show a glimpse of the beach life we all enjoy so much in Wollongong
Don’t forget to share my work when you see it on social media, if it is something you enjoy looking at, chances are your friends might too.
