Wombarra Wonders
At Wombarra I always seem to start with a wide shot of the pool from somewhere along the carpark or road. This one was taken as far south as I could get without being in the bushes
A few shots around the pool including this one which I thought looked great as a black and white. The moody looking clouds, the water movement, and the edge of the pool leading through to the mountains in the background. Up there with one of my favourites from Wombarra
Next I moved away from the pool to shoot the rocks along the shoreline, some really good opportunities for flow here with rocks going basically the whole way along the beach. No sun today so I had to make do with the motion of the water and the texture of the clouds across the sky
When trying to get that last photo I had the self timer set to avoid camera shake when I pressed the shutter. When I’m shooting for slow and using the timer I have the camera set to take 3-5 images in a burst so I get plenty of options to find the water flow I like. On this occasion I was shooting in the shorebreak zone, had to grab the camera during the bursts a few times to before I got the timing right to get the shot I was happy with. the images here are a result of moving the camera while it was taking the long exposure images. Some accidental intentional camera movement abstract images that I thought came out nicely for something completely unplanned and accidental
Put the tripod low here to accentuate the water rushing past the camera, more subdued processing on this one too to put more focus on the textures of the water and clouds.
This was the most interest the clouds had in them all morning when it comes to colour and being light. Another example of a shot featuring a small person in a big landscape with a surfer sitting out amongst the stillness of the ocean as a wave comes in across the shore
A similar shot looking the opposite way only this time someone standing on the edge of the pool under a clear section of sky as the cloud bank comes to an end in the southern sky
